SNC Announces Women in STEM Scholarship Recipients

SPARKS, Nev., (April 5, 2023) – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, announced the five recipients of the Women in STEM scholarship program for women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Each recipient will receive $7,500 to support their education.

“We are thrilled to be able to support this year’s recipients as they work toward their dreams,” said Dawn Jacobs, executive sponsor of the SNC Women’s ERG. “Supporting the next generation of women pursuing careers in STEM is a priority for all of us at SNC.”

2023 Scholarship Recipients:

  • Marwa Naji of Bridgeview, Illinois who will study Applied Math and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University
  • Aloisia Rickert of Belleville, Illinois who will study Physics at Washington University.
  • Marissa Capelli of Onalaska , Wisconsin who will study Engineering at Purdue University
  • Maggie Scott of Midway, Utah who will study Mechanical Engineering at University of Utah
  • Kusuma Murthy of Overland Park, Kansas who will study Computer Science at University of Kansas

This scholarship program is designed to encourage women to pursue careers in currently underrepresented fields and Industries.

SNC partnered with Scholarship America, the nation’s largest nonprofit, private scholarship organization to administer the scholarship. The next application window for the SNC Women in STEM scholarship will open in December 2023.
